Hi, my name is Wendy. I like workshops. Not just a little, like to the point that I actually LOVE workshops! Whew, there I said it.
All jokes aside, I really do enjoy workshops! I have attended quite a few over the past few years and I have come to discover it means way more to me than just social time or even learning new things, it's actually a GREAT way to have some "me" time as well! You know the routine of motherhood, add in an entrepreneurial hubby, & all the other demands of life...and a gal just doesn't have time for herself like she did before! So I will let you in on one of my little secrets...workshops are a GREAT excuse to take a much needed timeout and spend some time on Y O U! If you've never been to a workshop, I highly recommend finding one that has your name all over it or even maybe one that doesn't, because you might just find some hidden talents or interests you didn't know you had! Even if you have your doubts, just take the chance and go for it, you will totally be glad you did!
That's exactly what happened to me with the Pursue Workshop. I was so interested in it when they announced they were doing one at Carlton Landing that I talked myself right out of it! Even though it sounded perfect for me and I had been yearning to visit CL for quite some time, I just hesitated. Maybe the next one or maybe it's not for me..asked my sister, asked my best Bets, they couldn't go, so I just told myself no. But then my sister tagged me on IG for the Dallas one, and sweet as tea Kylie Swanson commented back we should just come to the CL one, they only had 2 spots left. So I bought my ticket right then. Even after I bought my ticket (& maybe even until the day of), I tried to talk myself out of it, but my ever supportive hubby, held my hand all the way out the door and encouraged me the whole way. ((applause for hubby!))
Can we just say I AM SO GLAD I WENT. I didn't know how much I needed the entire experience. From the drive, to the speakers, I just soaked every ounce of the day up! I even discovered I really, really love playing with pretty blooms!! It might have helped that the ladies of Poppy Lane Design were full of SO much spunk, uber encouraging words, & they were just down right inspirational women! I blame them for turning my "I love to look at pretty blooms" mentality to "I want to arrange & play in pretty blooms" mentality! ((thank you ladies!))
Maybe it's the winter blues talking, but I would LOVE to be IN these images right this very second! Pursue definitely left me filled to the brim with new hopes, loves, & dreams. It's brought underlying talents out that I didn't even know I had. A Pursue Workshop will do exactly what their name is and possibly a little more! I know it has left me pursuing more of not only myself, but life.
